German Bird's Eye - Planning a Scarf
One of my next weaving projects is a forest-colored scarf. I had a one-off skein of green & brown yarn. I wound the warp so that the color repeats lined up ... more or less. Fiberworks is cool, but doesn't have a way to do painted warps. To give me some idea of how it will look, I made due with a horizontally gradiated warp.
I tried out a few different patterns (limited to 4 shafts on this one) and settled on the German Bird's Eye from Davidson's green book (pg 20). I wanted something that evoked foliage without being too busy or distracting. Now I just have to find a nice weft yarn to go with it.
